In theory I agree but in the real world this analogy breaks down. Communication is a essential part of working relationships and everyday interactions. If you cant communicate fluently and effectively the people will fill in the gaps for you. In their eyes you may appear indecisive or lacking confidence and once that assumptions reached, you will be pidgeon holed in that social circle. This is not permanent by any means but in the moment the damage is done. In my experience even stating you have a stutter wont be enough to gain any understanding from the other party. A good example of this is telling a joke. You can ignore the haters, be confident, assume others hate their lives but if you cant say the punchline with the correct timing they will not laugh. Positivity and coming to terms with a stammer is a good thing, dont get me wrong but it isnt a complete answer imo
