I get why he doesn't want to do it, but, speaking from experience, his life would be much better if he did. Of course the stutter wouldn't disappear 100%, but it'd be way better after speech therapy. I don't believe in taking meds though. That's a superficial measure and doesn't address the root of the issue. Also most speech therapists don't address the issue, which is that we get in our own way when we speak. We anticipate the stutter so we get worked up and our brain goes into lockdown. Therapists should help you to get to a point where you can express effortlessly and freely.
