This was a few years back, but I I still remember it. I had another part time job at the time delivering. I was making a delivery to a medical building one afternoon. I walked in with the order, and I approached a young woman. This woman had some kind of medical uniform on. I’m guessing she worked In either a clinic or a doctors office. Well, I greeted her, and blocked on my speech a little, and she gave me a little laugh. At first, I turned and walked out of the building. But, then I turned around and walked back in and saw the same woman. I said to her, ‘’I didn’t know it was part of your training to laugh at someone with a speech disability.” And I said that completely fluently. This woman looked at me with her mouth open like she was shocked. Well, I didn’t give a fuck! I simply walked out of the building and went back to making my deliveries. I didn’t know what she felt the rest of the day, but I put that bitch on notice! That was one of my prouder moments when I DID stand up for myself! I went home that night PROUD! 👍
