Covert stutterer, "white lies" to hide stutter

Covert stutterer, "white lies" to hide stutter I am a covert stutterer, and have been almost my whole life. For the most part I am able to talk fluently (but not freely), but saying specific things (name, address, telephone, job etc), and repeating things are the worst. I often find myself in the position where I can choose to stutter, or lie. "Lies" sounds horrible, but I don't feel like it's lying for real. It's typically about answering standard questions like "What's your name?", "Where are you going?", "Where are you from?", "Where do you work?", "What did you do this weekend?" and such. Or, just skip things that I know I will stutter on. For two years or so, I have tried to stutter instead of taking the easy way out, and hoping that I can be so confident that I will be able to stutter out in the open. I have never really talked to anyone that stutters, so I am wondering if this is something you guys do too?
