Hey, welcome to the sub! Some people have posted here about herbal supplements, but I haven't really seen any follow-up to it. To be honest, I don't think there is that much out there and a big thing you can do is just change your view/opinion of your stutter, which is of course easier said than done! But I have been experimenting with something recently. So, my family has a history of anxiety. Some people on my dad's side supposedly wouldn't leave their house for weeks at a time and had issues with alcoholism due to this general sense of unease, pretty crazy, right? So my dad and his uncle started taking magnesium supplements, and they claim that it takes the "edge" off some of their anxiety. I guess magnesium deficiency can stem from drinking alcohol, caffeine, stress, which I do all of the above! And I also guess that magnesium deficiency can be associated with heightened senses of anxiety. I started taking a calcium magnesium zinc (CMZ) supplement this past week. Supposedly weight lifters take it as well to work on joint repair, appears to be pretty innocent. Who knows, a week is a short time, but I've felt a little more mellow this past week, the edge has been taken off and I haven't been quite as self-conscious about my stutter. Whether that's placebo, just a good week, or a real impact, who knows! I imagine you'll get a lot of responses like that on here about this stuff. People have also talked about mushrooms, an herbal green supplement, and Vitamin B1.
