No worries. I’m very comfortable discussing my stutter and especially to help other stutterers in the healthcare system. It didn’t affect my practice at all and my patients never had any issues with my stutter as long as I was understood. Rarely, they would say it’s hard to understand me or to follow and I just go slower to speak clearer and I’m understood. My biggest issues were from my superiors who felt it was not acceptable to have a stuttering doctor so that’s where the majority of my struggles came from but I overcame it and was able to finish and even now in my fellowship, I’m still facing the same struggles but I’m still trekking through.
