Currently working in Quality Assurance (I basically write Quality Manuals and pro forma all day long, it's so boring). Before that I worked in retail for years. Retail was not that bad. I quite enjoyed it in a way, and it improved my confidence. Sometimes I even miss it! I've noticed that my stutter has gotten worse since working in the office and not having to speak as much. Overall I would say that you shouldn't let your stutter dictate your life. If you want to practise medicine, go for it! Communication is about so much more than just talking. It's about body language and being an active listener, and those things are even more important in medicine when you'll be interacting with people at their most vulnerable. My dream job is to be an author and make all my money that way. I hate doing readings and talking about writing though so idk. Maybe I'll be like Thomas Pynchon and be successful without anyone even knowing what I look like.
