Not trying to be argumentative, but it seems like the same could be said for any attribute of yours, from the size of your nose to something less tangible like an accent. I can't change the physical appearance of my face, but it matters to me what my wife's opinion of it is. I'm not trying to invalidate your thought process. Just understand it better.
