R&D works is good. I work in automotive coatings and I know guys above me with accents thicker then the crust of the earth were you have to tell them to repeat stuff (I always feel bad for asking because they are really smart) and Guys with stutters worst then mine. as long as you can communicate your idea you should be fine.
