I have a moderate stutter but have found reasonable success with job interviews (am 2 years out of college, managed to land internships/job offers with major financial institutions) so thought I'd share my own tips. The first factor has got to be nerves management. Nervousness and anxiety 100% contributes to worsening stutter during the interview. Conscious breathing management during the interview and running through potential questions/answers before the interview will help lower the potential for nerves to creep up on you excessively. The more important thing is that speech impediment aside, you have to believe in your value. Even if you do stutter during the interview, never let it erode your self worth or feel that your story/credibility has been devalued because of it. 95% of employers would care more for your experiences, your character, and what you can tangibly bring to the table. If you can can articulate that, even with a stutter here and there, your message gets across to them 100%. Of course, the caveat is that if it's a sales or cold calling related job, it'll be a different story and the odds are unfortunately not on our side. Not to say that I was exceedingly successful with my interviews, I definitely wasn't, but generally I have been able to work past my speech impediment to demonstrate what I can bring to the table. Keep your head up my friend!
