Right on. It's important to remember that stuttering itself isn't bad, it's just a different way of talking. Struggling and feeling ashamed isn't good, but as you work through those things you begin to accept yourself and your speech as part of who you are and a part that is perfectly ok. I will say though that a good slp can help the process of you can find one. School therapists usually don't really know anything about stuttering. And you should be proud of yourself for taking that job in the first place. I would've never done that; certainly not at 16.
