Should I pursue a school leadership opportunity

Should I pursue a school leadership opportunity I've recently been told about some leadership opportunities at school. In a perfect, stutter-free world, I would probably go after these. My hope is that it would be good for uni applications and help me develop my skills. The school also mentioned that there may be funding available for said positions - so there's a chance I could expense some camera purchases? Now a large part of these positions revolve around communication and public speaking. Now, I'd like to ask this community if you think it would be a good push for me to develop my communication skills and gain confidence, or would instead shatter my already crumbling self worth? Haha. On a side note, maybe I should have created another post for this, but what do ya'll think of medication? My stutter seems to be mainly induced by anxiety/stress. So I was wondering if you'd reccomend that I try medication. My mother and therapist generally recommended against it, but I've been in speech therapy for nearly a full year, and have seen barely any improvements. I feel like the problems stemming from my stutter are causing more damage than any drug side effects ever would, and are really holding me back. I'll discuss this with my father as well, as he may be more of a realist in some ways? Even if I'm taking something for the rest of my life, I think it would likely still be worthwhile. Thanks for any advice!
