Wow, it sucks that they let you go because of your stutter i believe that the executive and the hr team are assholes and I'm glad that you're not working there anymore as they probably didn't see you for who you are, i mean come on having a stutter is unprofessional wtf?? Go fuck yourselves execs and managers. I think your mom doesn't understand what having a stutter feels like and is assuming that if you go to speech therapy it will go away and you can "speak right". 1- it wouldn't 2- wtf is speaking right anyway?? We stutter and that is our way of speaking right. I would recommend that you try to think about how stuttering makes you feel and then speak with your mom about it, tell her what having a stutter feels like and if she doesn't get it that's ok atleast you tried conveying it to her. I second her idea of going to speech therapy but not for the same reasons she suggests. I feel like going to speech therapy will give you a place to talk about your stutter with people who understand it, YOU DON'T HAVE TO CHANGE HOW YOU SPEAK! Having a space to talk about it might allow you to see stuttering in a different light and accept it, and through that you will gain confidence and you would be able to stand up to bullies like your ex-boss and mom. It will also be empowering and it would make you realize just how big and important stuttering is to you. Please don't let stuttering stop you, and if you think that no one wants to hire you because of your stutter you're completely wrong. I'm here if you want to dm me or we can even do a zoom call about it. Love you and i wish you all the best
