I work as an attorney. My stutter was terrible in law school, but got much better after I graduated and got my first job. I work in a "cerebral" field of law, so my stutter hasn't held me back like it might a divorce or criminal lawyer. Although, one of the prosecutors in my smallish city is a stutterer as well.Find a niche like tax, compliance, or management consulting where it won't be that big of a hindrance. Someone proficient in stringing together a grammatically correct sentence is a rare commodity for employers too, such that they may be willing to overlook your stammer. My stammer is relatively obvious, although not debilitating. I've gotten an offer from every firm I've applied to since graduation, even with some interviews that I thought went poorly. I have middling grades, unremarkable experience, but excellent writing samples and cover letters. Most people are careless and communicate poorly on paper. Find a way to set yourself apart and you will succeed.
