I also went the same route, studied CS and I graduated with honors. I'm also a woman which has made finding jobs in programming very difficult. I've been in tech for 20 years now. I own my business and make well into six figures despite my moderate stutter. When I started, I actually worked help desk. I worked alongside people who did not have a degree plus I had to answer phones which was awful. I stuck with it and I got my first programming jobs from Craigslist and I worked with small businesses to develop their websites. This was on the side of whatever job I was working at the time. I did this to build up my portfolio and it finally led to my first real programming job. To put it in perspective, I have a friend who has a mild stutter and he has a BS CS and MS. He actually double majored in CS and Law and he also has his law degree. Smartest guy I know. He was working in law and saw what I had going on in tech and he tried to switch back to programming mid-career. He couldn't find any jobs so I suggested he bring his skills up to date. He did a 6 week coding camp and tried to find jobs for a year after that. He gave up and is still practicing law. TL;DR Tech is an incredibly competitive industry. Just stick with it and build up your portfolio doing small jobs. It will take time but you will get there! If you want some guidance, feel free to pm me. I can even have a look at your resume if you like.
