I see that perspective and understand a lot of people agree with you. But not everyone interprets those comments the same way. I actually find that reminder helpful. When I feel like the universe is against me and everything is so unfair, I need to remember that things could be worse. I don’t find it dismissive (though that could be the intention) and I don’t read it in a mean or condescending tone. Neither of us are wrong.
