I have been laughed at by teachers and students alike. It really stinks, but I really tried to never let it get me down. The next day was a new day and I was stuck with my stutter no matter what (and still am). My son is 4 and disabled with slow, often unintelligible speech. And I'd tell him that people who laugh at things that can't be changed are of no consequence to him. They don't matter to who he is and how he lives his life. Let it hurt for a minute, and then move on. I'm hoping to pass down my stoic attitude because I think it'll help him more than most. The world is full of a-holes, he's just going to learn that earlier than most.
