Speech therapy graduate student with an acquired stutter here. This sub usually has lots of great advice for dealing with the emotional side of stuttering. From a more clinical perspective though, acquired stutters are definitely uncommon, but not unheard of. I would definitely go to see a doctor if you are able. Causes of an acquired stutter can range from particularly intense psychological stress, to prescription or illicit drugs, to a stroke, brain injury or tumor. This is not an exhaustive list, but if you are experiencing any signs/symptoms of a stroke or brain injury, like trouble with memory, vision, balance, or confusion I would go to the ER if you are able. They will be able to begin to rule out possible causes.
