I had the good fortune of making friends who weren't uncomfortable or awkward about my stutter, which helped a lot. Still, it's a constant battle. I look for small victories throughout the day to feel good about. Like if I'm able to order at Starbucks with less repetition than usual, that's a win. Or having positive interactions with strangers, even if it's just a smile and "Hi, how are you?" makes me feel really good too
