I spent two years making a film about young people who stutter, and the refrain I heard over and over again is, "don't \*do\* anything, just listen." In other words: I do not stutter. If you asked me how my day was going, you would stand politely and silently until I answered. There is no need to change or "do" anything differently if I were to stutter when answering... I think people who do not stutter - like me, prior to making the film - tend to overthink this. The answer is actually really, really, simple. I of course defer to the guidance of those who do stutter, but this is my reflection on what I learned :)
