Been exactly where you are I think stuttering can make even the most outgoing of personalities shy. Knowing we have to stutter in front of a group, and the associated dread, can be killer. I think it can certainly depend on the individual teacher and probably can't hurt anything. I had teachers/professors that would make my day better by slightly modifying a speaking assignment, etc....but I also had teachers I informed that could have cared less. I don't think you have anything to lose by voicing your concern.
