Some people are able to pass for fluent the rest of their lives without much effort but that’s the minority and even then, most of them simply become covert stutterers. They can swap words around and use various techniques to hide their blocks, but the blocks are still there, you just don’t hear them. There’s no “cure” for stuttering. It’s how our brain works, it’s NOT a failing on our part. It’s a hidden disability that does not define me. Accepting my stutter, talking about it openly and allowing myself to stutter openly and say whatever the heck I want to say, has been the most liberating experience of my life.
