One of the best things that happened to me for my stutter was finding a girl who really liked it. If it's possible to you, I would recommend telling him you love how he speaks, his uniqueness, he's special in a great way, etc. Make him feel like the stutter isn't a negative point of who he is but another great part of the whole package.
