First off, do not attempt to get a job that requires you to constantly talk. That should be obvious. Unless you plan on putting in the work to improve your speech before you do. I have been a little rude in the past in job interviews, so I don't necessarily recommend this being a great strategy. It's more of a confidence move, to be honest. But I always like to ask if my stutter will be an issue for the job. If so, we may as well stop here and not waste our time. They seem a bit shocked by my initial start to the interview, but I've never been turned down. With saying this, I know I have what they are looking for when it comes to college degree, job skills, past experience, etc. So I let them decide if they want a potential lawsuit for not hiring me due to a disability when I'm clearly capable of performing the job. Absolutely be up front about it. Describe the struggle with your speech as best as possible. For example, I make sure to be clear that my speech gets better once I meet people and get more comfortable with them.
