Stuttering isn’t curable. SLPs can give you strategies that help you move through stuttering moments and help with self acceptance, confidence, etc. They don’t give you a recipe to get rid of your stutter, that’s not possible. SLPs who stutter will use strategies to move through stuttering moments if they choose to, but that doesn’t define their ability as an SLP or their ability to help others work through their stuttering. Your analogy is flawed (it doesn’t work as a comparison to stuttering/SLPs at all actually) and it leads me to believe you don’t fully understand stuttering nor the role of SLPs in aiding those who stutter.
