I usually don’t comment much on this sub or on reddit in general, but my struggle is similar to yours in many ways. I’ve always wanted to be a doctor, but the fear of not being able to say the right thing at the right time has kept me from applying. Instead, I’ve found myself applying to dental school, while not as glamorous, it pays well and I still get to help people. I have two questions: 1) Did you ever end up doing speech therapy or therapy in general to help give you the courage to do presentations? I’ve recently been thinking I should join Toastmasters as a way to get over my fear. 2) Thanks for posting this, you’ve given me hope for the future.
