First off: been there and went thru that. I know some people have suggested disclosing or advertising, and I agree with them for a couple of reasons: it lets them know what's up and it gives me permission to continue to stutter. I like adding some humor in there some times (I do stutter on occasion, but don't worry, sometimes my brain has to buffer for a sec; or don't worry, it's not contagious thru zoom.) I think we are all a bit hard on ourselves as well. We are aware of every little stutter we have, probably due to some hyper-vigilance, but the listener isn't. Some of our stutters will be missed by the listener. The block that felt like it was a solid 5 seconds of deafening silence was just a quick blip for them. Also, they care a lot (usually) less than we do. I'm not saying your feeling are not real, they 100% are. But looking at them and seeing if those feelings are accurate is something else. Did the video get recorded? Watch it back and see if it was as bad as you think it was (as painful as watching it back might be) and see it thru someone else's eyes. And remember: don't let the bastards keep you down.
