These are 50/50 either the kindest people who truly don't want to other you OR people who for sure noticed and at least held back from making fun. There's an old lady who comes in my job and laughs the whole time I help her waiting for me to stutter so she can directly tell me I'm FUNNY and if I don't stutter she honestly says 'aw see you didn't make me laugh today!' I write her off as just being old as dirt and frankly I question the intelligence of any adult that still teases people based on life circumstances they truly cannot help.
