I did some reading up on TMJ and while some of the symptoms do match, the pain and difficultly only comes when speaking, not when eating or moving the jaw without actually making sounds. It’s certainly not lockjaw, due to the fact that it’s only on one side, has persisted for years and only happens when I attempt to speak, not any other time.
