You’re right, it does suck…but it makes us unique. I used to be so hard on myself as well and I was always so worried about what other people thought of me. One day I woke up and I decided I was going to stop caring. I realized that if people are going to judge me for something that I cannot control, then they are not worth my time. When you start doing that then you’ll start feeling more comfortable and less anxious, and in return….more fluent. So when you tell the person on the phone saying sorry you’re cutting out, that “no actually I have a speech impediment” you can say it with more of an attitude. Keep your chin up, it gets easier. You’re not alone.
