avoidance and secondary behaviors do not come out of nowhere. They are learned and(most of the time)only present in developmental stutterers. they grow up with these behaviors and many children who outgrow their stuttering were not able to fully develop such behaviors. My point is simply playing with the idea that developmental stuttering could be a ptsd-like disorder that is reliant on its psychological and emotional aspects rather than physical and neurological deficits.
