I’m not u/MrTumnus99, but I think he meant his parents cared for him no doubt, but weren’t aware of all the hard times his stuttering was giving him. All in all make it dead clear, you know what he’s going through (even though that might not be entirely true). Which will make him, no doubt in my mind whatsoever, feel better I think the feeling is universal between lone stutterers, it’s quite isolating being unique with a (objectively) bad trait
