I wouldn't say I *never* stutter when public speaking - volunteering to read out a list of award recipient names was a bad idea, for example (can't rephrase to avoid a stutter). But generally I have no issue public speaking. My theory is it's because everyone is expected to be quiet and listen to me, so I'm not subconsciously distracted by the possibility of being interrupted (which I think makes me try to speak faster).
