I changed departments at my job in june. I knew a few people from the other department but the rest of them I didn't. The look of shock in people's first reaction is always the same then it goes on to avoidance where you can see they'd rather not deal with this shit. Five months in now I can have conversations with most of the people individually but in a group when I talk they look my way like they would anybody until I get stuck, patience is thin, they carry on with the conversation like I wasn't talking. Which at 53 its the story of my life, don't get used to it but you learn to expect it and that's just the way it is. It's a tough existence looking like a fool every time you open your mouth on a daily basis. I wouldn't wish this on anybody but I'd love for the impatient pricks to feel it for 20 minutes.
