I Have a Weird Stutter. How Can I Fix It? So my speech has been perfectly fine my entire life. So much so that I even spent a year every Monday morning in front of new hires teaching them about data tools and such. Public speaking is no issue to me. Over the last few years though, I've noticed a stutter that may be getting slightly worse over time. When telling a story to someone, I cannot for the life of me say a person's name or the name of a place. It's always specifically the name and nothing else. Even my wife's name or my daughter's name. Calling to people by their name or saying "oh hey look it's New York!" or whatever is perfectly fine. It's only when explaining something or telling a story about someone or something. What gives?
