There is nothing as horrible as seeing your children suffer. It is so sad. You want to help them but can not. It is painful. I stutter and my two sons stutter. I had speech therapy all of my life and it was not only useless it was harmful. I have never ever seen a stutterer helped by professional speech therapy. Stuttering is a disability. A horrible physical (neurological) disability. People who do not see well use a prosthesis (eyeglasses) and it usually helps them. People who do not hear well use a prosthesis (hearing aids) and it usually helps them. For those of us who stutter there are 2 wonderful prosthetics that I strongly recommend - Delayed Auditory Feedback (DAF) and the Edinburgh Masker. They helped my family and maybe they can help your son. Best wishes.
