Yes he has expressed this to me. To the point where I’ve had to give him some time away from the desk to calm himself and breath. When I say “doing well” I mean his attitude and resilience is great. He’s pushing himself to challenge himself and is actual work in terms of his cases/technical abilities is great as well as fitting in with the team well. I am his superior and my intention is not to play saviour. My job is to coach new starters in a way that benefits the company but also the helps the individual. Looking at their individual needs and providing support accordingly. The point of the post was to ask for general advice from people who can emphasise with his situation so that I can offer him more than a shitty generalised pep talk.
