I'd say it depends on who it is. If it's an employer and you're looking to get promoted/respected, you may have to prove yourself over time with abilities outside of verbiage. If it's just an acquaintance, don't worry about it so much. We here in the community are of 2 different camps. There are those of us who want to mesh with the rest of the world and improve upon our stuttering and become functional members of an already thriving society. And there are those who want the world to slow down, be more patient with us, and conform to our disability. Forgive me in advance, I don't want to start a flame war amongst us. That's just what I read in the room.
