Thank you for your response. Using synonyms is a great idea. That's why I'm reaching out directly to those who have lived or work with this condition directly. He has a speech therapist but as you mentioned it didn't help. Im hoping to learn strategies and techniques and resources straight from the source. Me and my wife and his immediate family/friends are and have always been patient and understanding and supportive of him. But as he gets older and the world around him gets larger that won't always be the case. I'm doing my best to explain to him that he is no better or worse than other kids or adults and that he can always come to me and talk about anything and everything. As I mentioned in previous responses he is an absolutely sweet kid. There is not a negative bone in his body. I don't know how anyone could bully or make fun of him but I know that it will and probably does happen. Hopefully I can do my best to give him skills to learn to brush those people and actions aside and smile through it.
