It's normal to have a secondary, as u/CouchPra, said. They USUALLY help out quite a bit with the anxiety side of stuttering. I've also found moving your leg up and down helps (basically tapping your foot without the actual tapping part). I've seen a lot of these secondary actions, some more noticeable than others. Tapping your foot, moving your hands, crossing your arms and gripping slightly as to give yourself a hug, there's a ton of them. One thing I've found works sometimes for younger stutterers, if take a deep breath and talk slow. Take a look at some videos of famous speeches. A lot of them may be loud and energetic, but they're also slow, with lots of breaks or pauses.
