I think what helps me (at least) is realizing that my stuttering is super variable and that’s not my fault. I think the closest example is a friend of mine who has a lot of spasticity in his arms and legs because of a spinal cord injury. There are days when the spasticity is less, there are days when it’s so much he really can’t move. And, there are days when it doesn’t bother him at all. None of that is his fault, just th nature of the condition. Stuttering is like that I think. Nothing you do or do not do really affects the underlying nature of the variability. I think once I realized that, I think I started to learn to struggle less against the ups and downs. That made it weirdly easier in a round about way
