Therapy helped. Mostly Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I still get pretty anxious from my stutter at times, but no where near as bad as I was a few years ago. But yeah, my recommendation is therapy. Good luck Edit- Also, it's okay to say you stutter. I work part time as a waiter and I usually stutter on my name whenever I'm asked it. Sometimes it's mild, sometimes it's a few seconds of awkward silence, but in those cases, I just use one sentence to say I stutter, then move on. It's actually pretty freeing. Don't let the stutter control your life.
