New twist to my stutter: Typing in teams chat and texting. TL:DR It seems like increased electronic communication requirements for work are bringing out my stutter as I type. I don't really know what I'm looking for here. Just telling you all a thing I guess. *** background: I have a moderate to severe stutter that started at about 3 and continued through life. The only treatment that ever touched it was acceptance and getting on with life anyway which built confidence which made it easier to accept my speech and easier to get on with life. It's a hard road but I like my life. *** Late in the fall I got promoted from a regional senior tech to a national program manager. I miss the field but it's a better situation for my family so I took it. National deals with people across Canada so there are multiple time zones and a huge workload to deal with so we rely heavily on video call and chat software. As I become more comfortable with the situation and communication is becoming natural over the keyboard and phone chat I find my fingers hesitating or repeating the same keystroke for no reason. I know what I'm saying, I know how to spell it, I know where the letters are but it's starting to come out with a stutter. That's really about it. Not sure what's going on or what to think, I just wanted to tell someone. Thanks for being there.
