I have had the "bad habit" of stuttering since childhood and I can feel your pain. When the teacher asks me to read a few lines from the chapter, for me that was like a nightmare situation. When I grew up I tried to find a cure, consulted with speech therapists, and they advised me to speak slowly. The trick used to work during the therapy but failed the moment I stepped out of the room. Then I started reading books on stammering to find a cure for this by myself. Every book has 1 thing in common that "WE NEED TO ACCEPT THE FACT THAT WE STUTTER AND SHOULD START STAMMERING OPENLY". If the world can wholeheartedly embrace and support the LGBTQ+ community, individuals with disabilities, and people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, it will surely accept us too. Today I stammer openly, people judge me but that doesn't bother me and that should not bother you.
