I guess it depends on the setting. If I’m in a professional or important presentation it takes some of the stress away to reveal I have a stutter. By claiming and accepting the issue it kinda makes it easier to cope if I have a block or episode. But also don’t feel the need to announce it in every interaction. I was at the point for a while that the stutter became my identity and I lost sight of what else I was. It’s good to warn people you may have episodes, and even better to accept and love that part of yourself, but remember you’re more than how you speak
