From someone who has never had good luck with speech therapy, I'll throw in my 2 cents. But first, a caveat...plant medicine has a time and place, but it takes maturity and responsibility to use effectively. It will mostly likely not cure your stutter. But it can be an invaluable tool, a godsend if you are willing to put in the work while sober. I have been using cannabis for my own stutter. Plant medicine in general may give you insight into your stutter, especially if you stutter for psychological reasons, like fear of being accepted, social anxiety, etc. Some of the insights I've gotten from cannabis are absolutely invaluable in understanding my stutter...stuff that can never really be experienced in a speech therapy session. While taking this medicine I learned one of the root causes of my stutter is not knowing how to be authentic and legitimately being afraid of other people. Before I tried cannabis, I could have told you the root causes of my stutter only from an intellectual understanding. When I was under cannabis, I had a chance to look at my shadow side I was avoiding and generally unaware of. I realized I have a gigantic fucking shadow that contributes so much to my stuttering. At the bottom of it was pure fear, this dense, dark paralyzing fear...fear of people, fear of being abandoned. I've been carrying it around for decades, but had no clue it really existed because all of the outgrowths of it were defense mechanisms, avoidances, intellectual coverings. It was scary as fuck! I felt like a newborn baby in a cruel world. I was really disgusted with myself. It's a work in progress, but now I'm learning to practice self love and take steps to really look at the deep, core reasons for my stutter. I don't know your history with drugs, but if you decide to go down that route, I would suggest something milder like cannabis before shrooms. And even then I'd advise a lower THC strain as the weed they have nowadays is very potent and can be overwhelming.
