Thanks for sharing this! I’m a waitress too and let me tell you once you get comfortable on the job and know the menu it’s usually easier to talk about recommendations. People are usually nice though because when I stutter I tend to blink awkwardly too much, people ask me if I was okay and maaan those comments suck sometimes but hey! not everyone has intentions to humiliate. In my experience being a waiter/waitress is a huge opportunity to get comfortable with the way you talk because at the end we all have something to say no matter how we deliver the words. The anxiety about talking to customers goes away with time I promise.
