Maybe it's a possibility? I'm in no way an expert. None of my kids stutter. But I achieved my fluency before they were born. My situation is, of course, purely anecdotal. It wasn't until recently that I learned of the genetic factors. The equation in my head is "Speech is learned" + "stuttering clusters in families" + "genetic factors" = greater chance of stuttering. And I wouldn't have even suggested as much if it weren't for the "clusters in families" factor.
