Do you guys notice that 'reaction/look' when you stutter when talking to someone?

Do you guys notice that 'reaction/look' when you stutter when talking to someone? When you stutter when speaking to someone for the first time or when you just stutter to someone to may speak to regularly. I'm not blaming them, I just notice they all don't really know how to react to someone who stutters. They have this look of shock almost and even pity sometimes.
