Well, the thing with therapy, if you go through for more than 1 year, the chance of it working again is rather low. Not impossible, and it’s worth trying I agree. But I was in speech therapy from 2nd grade to about half way through 7th. I’m in 11th grade now (not exact 6 years ago, that’s why I said about). I stopped therapy because my stutter hadn’t changed at all during all that time. It worked exactly the same way in 8th grade as it did when I was in 1st. So to me, speech therapy is a little redundant. I will more than likely try it again, but I don’t think trying it now will do any good, since I would just be told the same stuff that I remember from 6-7 years of it. I do agree that anyone who has a stutter should seek counseling, whether it’s with a speech therapist or group therapy or whatever. Even if it doesn’t work, the techniques you learn might help you in a few years, and it’ll just help see and hear others who stutter as well. And like I said, if my stutter went away now, I’d truly be as lost (if not more so) than I was when I was struggling with it. Thank you for the support though! It does mean a lot.
